Christmas swappin' with Jenny...

Y'all know by now that Jenny and I are swapping crazy!! Here is some of what I sent to her. I have a few more things that need to go out.

Old-fashioned candy canes and my favorite Bob's candy sticks.

A couple tags I made...

I glittered up chipboard letters and wired them to a mini garland.

Had to make a tassel for Jenny. I loved how this one turned out!!

A fun kitchen wreath rounded out this box of Christmas goodness!!

What did I get??

Super cute snowman doily ornament greeted me as I opened the box!!

All my goodness!! A cute, Christmas plaid basket, Gooseberry Patch Christmas book-LOVE it, fun kitchen towel, a snowy scene embroidery{I have two already-one for summer and one for fall}, primitive candy canes{Jenny has a tutorial}, little Christmas cottage and tree, R typewriter key plaque, cute ornaments, AWESOME handstamped metal ornaments with my kids' names and the year, snowman tag, and an ornament/keychain combo.

See the ornaments?? Jenny stamped those onto washers. I love me some personalization!!
Thank you so much for a fun swap package, Jenny!!

Fall tassel makin'...

I am sooo in the mood for FALL already!! Bring on the colorful, crunchy leaves, pumpkins, apple cider, and scarecrows. Love everything about the most wonderous of seasons. I especially like making tassels for Fall!! I made a couple last night, before I ran out of glue sticks. Don't worry...I got more today at Wal-Mart. I think I may make a few more tassels and who knows, maybe open that Etsy shoppe already!!
Like the lamp?? I waited for that beauty to go half off at Goodwill. Got it for just under $5!!
Happy Hump Day!!

Some junk for Jen

Just thought I'd share what I sent to Jen for our little swap. This is what was in Box 1. A yo-yo G. Jen loves G's so a monogram is a must in every swap!! She is helping out my collection of R's too!! I made Jen a tassel she could display everyday. I embellished a towel with a bird on a branch, sent her some of those eggs I posted about here. A nest sign, a bird plaque and few other goodies rounded out this box.

Here are the eggs. They are so pretty in person. I think my photography skills{or lack of} don't quite show their beauty adequately. Once they were all dry, I tied pink velvet ribbon and brown seam binding on. I also snipped the back of some vintage screw on earrings and glued them on. You could also use buttons.
The bird and branch were cut out on my cricut using the Storybook font. That is probably my personal favorite font!! The skeleton key came from the local hardware store and was brass originally. Nothing a little spraypaint can't help!!

The sign...Again, I used the Storybook font on my cricut. Love that thing!! Get it from Wal-Mart, though, the big one is much less than at Michaels, Hobby Lobby, etc.

Here is the bird tassel. If you want to make your own, you can click here.

The yo-yo G. Jen loves green so it was an obvious choice to use for the yo-yo's and frame.
I love making things for people that I know will appreciate them!!

What I gave Jen...

Okay, so y'all saw what Jen gave to me for our Valentine swap, so now I am showing y'all what I gave her. Ruffled apron, you can find the tutorial here. I did make a few changes, but for the most part used her directions. An embellished dish towel, salt dough ornies that I made and painted, shutter ornies for Jen's tree, a tassel-Jen said she would like a tassel. That's what is great about being such good friends, you can make special requests and its okay!! I also painted unfinished X's and O's from Michael's. Jen loves typewriters so I gave her some typewriter stickers. I also gave her a tag I made for her and a cherub that started out life as glittery gold, and a G I covered in sheet music scrapbook paper.

Here is a close-up of the tassel. I got the topper at Hobby Lobby. It was a Christmas ornament. I love the zebra print ribbon. Joyfullness got me started on that one!!

The tag...The cherub...Salt dough ornaments...

The shutter slats I stenciled are reversible.

Here is the other side of them. Had I thought about it, I would have made the other side to say something like Joy, Noel, Peace. Hindsight, y'all...

The apron in all its glory. I have a funny story about the iron. Once upon a time, we had a white plastic-y iron and it died. I borrowed my friend, Amy's{different Amy-church Amy}, iron. Well she needed hers back, so I went to Wal-Mart and got one. I loved the old-fashioned look and weight of this one. When my husband got home later that night I still had it sitting out and he said, "Dang, how old is Amy's iron?" I told him that I just bought it. Hee, hee!! I got a good chuckle out of that one!! Love my vintage, wooden ironing board, too!! I just feel so June Cleaver!! Ha, ha, ha!!

A close-up of the G.
I have a question for y'all now...I do plan on opening an etsy shoppe in the very near future. Would y'all like to see things like the letters similar to the G in it?? How about the aprons?? I have quite a few ideas, I would just like to know what y'all would be interested in...
Thanks!!
Happy Saturday!!
Oh, Joy, I will take a picture of my Valentine tree in all her glory hopefully today. I still have to take down the Christmas tree{yes, that thing is still up} and clean off my countertops and then I will share some lovey touches throughout my home. And, I received some of my goodies from Lori today from another swap{yes, I'm an addict!!} and I will post that soon, too!! It has been a very fun mail week!!
