Been Junkin'...

I just wanted to post a happy, fun post. I have had the chance to hit a yard sale or two lately, go to my favorite, cheap thrift shop, and yesterday, Amy R. and I got to go to an antiques market. Fun, fun!!

The bottom stuff is what I got from the antiques market, except the embroidered runner-got that from Goodwill.

The aprons, cookbooks, sheet set and towel came from a yard sale. LOVE me some vintage goodness!! The sheets don't fit a bed in this house, but I want to make Lilly a patchwork duvet cover so I gather up sheets when I find them. Cheap yardage!!

The middle step's items came from my favorite little church thrift shop. I got a dress for Lilly, glass candle holder, magazine, three books-one is missing, and the doilies for $1.50 total. Love the lady that checked me out that day!!

I found this vintage duvet cover at the antiques market yesterday for only $10. It has some wear, so I may cut it up for the cover I want to make for Lilly. I still want to paint her room. We are trying to settle on a color. She used to want pink, then blue, then yellow{yay!!}, and now lavender. Aurgghhh!!!!! I would love to put beadboard on the bottom portion of her walls, but her room is huge and that would be $$$, but I would LOVE it and I could let her have two colors on her walls.

Found this window yesterday, too. I love the robin's egg blue and yellow on it. I think I may add chicken wire to it like my tag holder to hold all her little papery treasures or put a quilt in it. Not sure...any ideas??
I also want to say a huge THANK YOU for praying and the wonderful care packages y'all sent. Lilly loves everything and we really appreciate your thoughtfulness. A special shout out to the Cricut Card Fairies{and Crystal-the ring leader??}, too. We got so many cute, handmade cards. Love y'all!!

WOW...you did find some great goodies! Love all those aprons! Junkin is so much fun when you find good deals! Enjoy all your goodies!

Hope Lilly is doing a lot better. Another Georgia friend, Jenni from At Home IN Georgia just found out that Madi has diabeties also this year and she has had to adjust also. They actually had a little scare over the weekend so she might be someone you can talk to also. Just thought I would share this with you. Not sure if you are friends with her. She also has a great blog and doesn't live to far from you either. Her address is

It's yard sale season! My favorite time of year!

How about a hair bow holder for the window?

Elise, I looked closely at your picturs but was unable to spot any "junk" ;-p

An idea for Lillie's room - around the top of her room - paint 12" square blocks, seperated from one another by 1/2 " spaces. Paint her overall room a creamy white, and then paint all of the square blocks the various colors she likes. One yellow, one blue, one purple, etc. Repeating them as you work your way around the room.

Then, in the middle of the squares, put framed 2 x 3 pictures of things she likes.

Then make her quilt out of fabrics the same colors as the squares.

Just an idea ....

still praying!!!
