The Fantasy, The Reality: Foyer

This is my foyer currently. All junked up with the contents of my van, mail, etc. This is clearly not working.
Now, this I love. I have a mantle I can cut the sides off of and then I would need to find a pew. I love, love, love this picture from Cottage Living. I see it being much less junky than my foyer is currently. I could be in denial, of course!!
Let's all join together in prayer that I find that pew for not a lot of $$.
Hope you all have a great weekend!!

Hi there. I am currently searching for a Deacon's bench, for the exact same project, and keep finding pews!! Check Craigslist as regularly as you can in your area and any surrounding area you would be willing to drive to pick it up. I have found tons of deals on Craigslist. Good luck in your search for the great pew!

Love the look of that foyer! We don't have a foyer at all, our door opens right up into the living room. bleh. Good luck in pew hunting!

Oh yes, magazines always have the nicest rooms. Just wait until you see my entry way that everyone comes in! It's awful!

I love the mantle turned coatrack!

Love this idea and I think it would work great in that space! Keep looking on Craig's List for the pew and save your pennies!

I love that picture. What a great entry. Ours is so small it hardly fits a shoe rack in there.

I keep saying I'm going to write to HGTV"s "Dear Genevieve". I would love to have her come to my house.
