God Bless Our Country

I know that election day is getting closer and closer. Some days I am relieved, others I am terrified. I know that we don't all have the same views and values. I don't always choose my friends based on that either. However, I know lots of people have(in my opinion) been deceived by certain politicians. I generally like to keep things light and fluffy around here, but in real life I tend to speak my mind a little more. So here goes. The Bible says you will know them(Christians) by their fruit. I also know that he without sin can cast the first stone. I am not judging here, only showing the facts. I would love for you to read this link. I think it is very telling. I don't vote on economics, though I think they are important, I vote on values, who has basic morals in place. That is why I will not be voting for Barack Obama. I don't care that he went to church, that doesn't make him a Godly man with Godly views. I don't care that he believes in God or Jesus, Satan does too. Now, I am NOT saying that Obama is Satan's cousin or anything like that, but I cannot see how someone who professes to be a Christian can support abortion and other things that I will not get on my soapbox tonight about. I am NOT saying that Obama is not a Christian, I do not personally know him, only he and God know that. All I know is that I am praying hard for our country. I do not think he is the right man for the job. I personally wanted Huckabee, but that is obviously not going to happen.
I am not looking for a fight or debate. You can kindly leave your thoughts and opinions.

I'm not really sold on either candidate. Can't say that McCain necessarily has the greatest values either when you consider he was pursuing his current wife while still married to his first wife. http://www.snopes.com/politics/mccain/carol.asp

Like I said - I'm not really fond of either presidential candidate, but that Sarah Palin scares the *!?# out of me.

You're braver than I as I have chosen to stay far away from politics on my blog for fear of nasty comments. Hope yours all stay pleasant.

Love that lighthouse song. :)

Well as you know from my blog who I'm voting for. I think he's the right choice for me. I'm a strong christian and have my own views on abortion and other issues...But that's what makes America so great! That we can all have different views and all be friends. :) I am scared for the future of my children...I hope whoever is elected will make a big change in the way things are right now.

I could go on and on about this...as I turned into a political geek the last few months. But I won't. :) I will be relieved when this election is all over with though. Seems like it's been going on FOREVER!

Elise, I read this article this morning and felt it too was worth folks looking at it. So I sent it to my address book. :) This election scares me. I don't voice my polical views on my blog but we as the people need to be as informed about the candidates as possible. I will be so glad when it is over. Let's face it, there isn't going to be a candidate that we approve of all he stands for, so between what we are given we should make the most informed choice for our country as we can. Which candidate is going to keep us a free country and afford us the liberties that we were founded on. No BO for me!

Blessing to you and yours.

Elise- I am so proud of you for stating what you believe. It is YOUR blog, my friend!:) I saw a bumper sticker the other day that said, "Say no to B.O.!" I haven't laughed so hard in a long time! I almost got out of the car to ask where I could get one!:) Lori

I am 100% behind you. McCain wasn't my choice either...with that being said, I think we are voting for the lesser of two evils here..(so to speak). Not that McCain is evil...I jsut don't think he was the best choice here.
If Obama wins...I think we are going to be in for hard times esp. with the Democratic Congress...Democrats + Liberals = TROUBLE and def. change...bad change! At this point all we can do is cast our vote and Pray hard!

I'm going to check out that link now!

Thanks for putting it out there!!!

I wish there was a third party to be honest because I am not really sold on either of them. I don't feel that the information on either website or during the debates was ever fully explained. This is just such an important election, it is scary! I have an award for you at my blog when you get the chance!

Well, I wanted Romney, but that isn't going to happen either. This year. ;) But I know we do agree on many other things. In fact, I agree with Michelle about the "lesser of two evils" comment. I've thought McCain was an idiot ever since we lived in AZ years ago. And I agree with Laura that I wish there were someone else who had a chance. My dh has a great idea that there should be a "none of the above" choice on the ballot and if it wins, all parties have to throw out their nominations and start over. lol.

I'm usually not into politics, but here in CA we are all involved in several issues that are really dividing the Christian/traditional family values people from everyone else.

God bless our country.
