I'm so bright!! And opinions please...

I just realized that its my 100th post!! Wow, I cannot believe I finally got here and I wanted to do a giveaway, but since I haven't even finished the first one I did, I think I will sit on that idea. Okay, so here is the ugly gold chandelier after I painted it. My original idea was to paint it black, but then I saw Amy's white one and loved it. Then, I got a magazine and I absolutely loved a breakfast area in it and that one was white too. I thought I might just paint over what I just painted then. Oh, and yes, it rained on my newly painted chandie. I'm am so bright for leaving it out overnight. Don't you wish you were as smart as me?!?!

In typical fashion I have my photos flip flopped!! This is my breakfast area now. Please don't judge me. I wish I was a neat freak, I really do...I was thinking of moving the hutch out{though I do love having a hutch in the kitchen} and maybe getting a bench to go either along the wall where it is or in front of the windows. Scroll down to see my inspiration room.

I have room in the breakfast area for the hutch, but my table is not centered in the windows or under the chandie{which I know I can swag over.} Oh, I want to paint the hutch really soon. Maybe antique white...

If you want to see a better view of my kitchen you can click here. Of course, there is no furniture, but it will give you an idea of what things look like.

I am so lovin' this room. We probably will not be painting the kitchen yellow, though I love yellow. I just don't think it will look that great with my dark cabinets. Most likely, the kitchen will be the same color as Amy's . I think she and I were separated at birth!!
Okay, bring on the opinions and advice!!

I should start and say that I'm going to be of no help to you on this one. :) I love the black, but then again I'm a sucker for black furniture anything. I'm sure what ever you do it will look great, can't wait to see what you decide to do!

I painted our bathroom fixture and door knobs black. It made a huge difference! I think the chandelier would look great white as well. I love your inspiration room. Yellow is quite tricky, got to find the right shade so it's not screaming BIG BIRD at ya! I think if you go with a soft yellow, it should look great with your cabinets.

Well, I gave you my two cents last night, and I say move the hutch for now, then bring it back later... If you have rearranging options DO it, my mom used to rearrange my bedroom when I was little and I LOVED it... In my home we don't have furniture moving options, so I say move it...

Elise- I looked at Amy's light fixture and I can see why you want to make yours white, too. It's fabulous! I am in love with her toile window treatments with the ball trim, too...

I adore your parson's chairs! Your breakfast room is lovely and I love the idea of a bench... You have the most amazing taste, Sweetie! Lori

Hey there! Thanks for stopping by! I threw together a quick pic of what I would do to the breakfast nook. Basically its adding a sisal rug, paint the chandelier creamy white, change out parson chair covers to a creamy white, leave the table as is and paint hutch black. Not sure if this will work, but here goes:

I love your inspiration room. So cute. I have an impossibly tiny kitchen. I was kidding with dh and telling him I was going to write to Dear Genevieve on HGTV to come and save our kitchen. LOL

Elise..
Oh..i love the black ..it seems like you have plenty of light coming into that area..so, black won't be too much!
Also...try some ugly green in there..just a touch to start you off..and a pretty fabric..keep walls a creamy color..like..buttercream frosting...just imagining that your walls have been "iced" like a cake will evoke feelings of pleaseantness!!Make sure you incorporate some more black in your kitchen accessories, just to pull it all together...like a black jar/flower pot that has some updated utensils in it..black maybe??or knobbies?? or a pop of some ugly green would work with the utensils too...
but you know i am partial to the ugly!!
what about some zebra...just kidding!
Happy day..
